1 Webcomic love! on Mon Mar 02, 2009 6:39 am

Well, since we're all geeks for webcomics (or have some of our own! ....or want to one day have one!), I figured it was about time for a webcomic thread. :) Here are a list of all my faves. The ones I check daily, anyway. Minus a few "special interest" (GAAAAY) ones, as I'm sure I'm the only one who likes Slashy McBoylove.

Better Days. Okay, I know it's a furry comic, but I don't care. I really love the story. I've been following it since Ch. 7. The earlier stories are much, much better then the ones that are currently going on. Pretty much after the characters become adults it gets a little boring. :/ BUT! It's probably really worth reading at least for the first ones. It's not really a "furry" comic (insinuating the creepiness and fetishes), but sort of a slice-of-life comic told with anthros. Put aside your furry-hate to read it, seriously. :)

Awkward Zombie. For the video game lulz! I like her style a lot and I basically have the same taste in games. Basically if you're a Nintendo or WoW fan, you'll be amused.

Minus. Oh man, if you haven't seen this yet, shame! It's absolutely wonderful. The art is beautiful, the story is either really touching, really clever or really sweet. Although he doesn't update often, you really should read this comic.

Alternate. I think I posted this on my blog a while back, but man. I laugh so hard I cry whenever I read this. She doesn't really update anymore (she's moved onto another project; see below!), but the archives are worth reading IMO.

Todd Allison & the Petunia Violet. It just started (only 22 pages) so I'm not 100% sure how to feel about it. But it's by the same girl who does Alternate. The art style is more realized and I LOVE her style, so I totally adore like every panel. It's funny, but it also seems to have a more somber, serious tone to it. Also Todd Allison is adorable and will probably be added to Fran's Man Harem ©. He sews! And keeps house plants! And is a mystery! :D

Johnny Wander. One that I just started reading, but I enjoy these slice-of-life comics (if you couldn't tell), so it fits right in. I also really like the indie cum anime style, so.. :P

Gunnerkrigg Court. Yeah, no, click this right now and read the archives immediately. The story is just awesome. I love supernatural-magic-folklore stuff and this comic is just full of it. I plug this comic all the dang time because it is wonderful. The characters are all really adorable. :0 GO! READ IT!

Questionable Content. Yeah, there's a lot of hate for this comic and quite frankly, it was pretty awful for a while. But it's been making a comeback! Sorta. It's sort of fallen subject to lack-of-a-plot and static formula. Buuuuuut I've been reading it since comic, like, 20. Much like Better Days which is also on the decline, I just can't seem to stop reading no matter how boring it's getting. But hey, it's something to check out on days when you're bored. :P

OMFG! ALTERNATE IS AWESOME! I just read it!!! I'll get to the others too but wow that one was fun! Touching too, such a good one! It's so simple as well, I gotta do a comic like that instead of these pages that take forever. Comics don't need to be complicated and overly detailed(lol like I'm good at that). Man...

also, lawl, Jing looks like Liam, haha!

Tod Allison is also full of win! that woman is amazing! ask Jeeves seems like a pretty good set up... maybe I should check it out?

anyway, I've got a few to share too!
Directions of Destiny --- this is one talented guy, he's put out the first graphic novel of this series too Smile I just bought it recently.

Gone with the Blastwave --- War time hilarity with some black humor, it kinda reminds me of FPS' too

White Ninja --- please tell me you guys have read this! It's hilarious!

Clone Manga --- this guys is super talented and has several series that he's working on. He has serious stories as well as humor. Those of you who know about Card Captor Sakura will want to check out Tomoyo's room for a very VERY different take on the characters.

Rob and Elliot --- 2 room mates comedy strip

Under Lock and Key --- This is an amazing webcomic that was unfortunately never finished. But you need to read it ASAP if you haven't read it yet!

Well, that's all I got for now.

Dovecote Crest ---- I just discovered this one last night. SO CUTE! It's about Civil War reenacters, go read it right now. NOW I SAY.

Hark a Vagrant! ---- Funny history comics, trust me you'll laugh. sometimes the jokes are lost on me cause I didn't pay enough attention in history class, but that's my fault. the jokes are funny regardless.

also, I may as well spam my Comic Fury compatriots, so here's a few:

1000 ---- A diary comic. This kid has been doing it for years, makes me feel old cause he's only like, 15... Pretty funny Smile

Ginger Curls ---- Another diary comic, her style is so cute!

Fishbowl ---- More diary comics, and again, very funny. This guy always makes me laugh. Plenty of video game and art school jokes.

All the Better ---- Only has a few pages so far but it looks to be very promising. Has supernatural elements and time travel.
