I think it's fair to guess that we all love making up characters. It's also probably fair to say that we all have influences. So tell us about characters you like, and why!

Okay, so I've got a list the length of this apartment, but I'm going to start with one of my first favorites, Charles Wallace. He's best known in the book "A Wrinkle in Time", but I first encountered him in one of the sequels, "A Swiftly Tilting Planet".

I like him because he's really smart without acting like the typical smart guy. He doesn't talk about it, he just *is*.
I recommend the books to anybody that likes reading; they're AMAZING.

But yeah...like the smart guys...Artemis Fowl is really good too (up to book 3, anyway. We're disowning the rest).
And it goes on...smart detectives, like Poirot and Holmes and Monk, and there's Otacon, from MGS, and Lupin used to be my favorite from Harry Potter until he turned weird. Oh, yeah, and speaking of turning weird, Fai from the Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles could be included in this list of smart guys, except he also turn psychotic.

Which brings me to another case in point: a lot of the characters I favor end up getting ruined. They're going along great and then, I don't know, the writer gets bored or something and figures "well, this guy was kind of boring, let's turn him into a personality-challenged vampire that has to babysit his twin brothers" or something.
Maybe that's why I like to make my own characters.

As for favorite characters of mine... I don't know if it's possible for me to even narrow that down... basically just look at my signature and you'll know who they are. Also the Slayers cast, and Hei from Darker than Black should be added to that

A scorned hero who's lost hope but still defends those who hate him? I think that sentence covers why I like him, no rest for the weary.

Sho Minamimoto - The World Ends With You
A guy whose intelligence remains intact though his sanity is long gone, and he has an awesome sense of style ^_^ Not to mention he can summon Taboo Noise

Cloud Strife - Do I need to tell you?
Yea, i know, everyone loves cloud. but he was the first character i liked in the first rpg i ever played lol, still one of the coolest. leave me alone attitude combined with the world sucks, but i fight for my friends...that works for me.

Squall - yea, u kno
So, you save the world and get the girl? one of the best love stories ever, not to mention a fun weapon XD

Nice choice with Archer and Squall, they're awesome characters

One Piece - Mostly everyone on the Straw Hat Crew (Even Brook)
Death Note - Light Yagami (more than L)
Fullmetal Alchemist - Edward Elric

I like the whole Straw Hat crew myself, but the core 6 crew members are my favorites.

I LOVE THAT GAME! Joshua's my fav ^^. Even though...well, I don't know. His character was confusing at the end. I guess I like him up until the epilogue, and then I don't know what the deal is.
Sho was hard to beat. For me. I'm not good with games, but I really enjoy that one.
