too bad about FMA. I was a huge fan of it before it came to america so I was super bummed when it got ruined. I still like it, but the fan-base here has definitely not been helpful...

It is very good though, but I'd recommend the manga over the anime.

Yeah, you know, I tried watching the anime with Sam once upon a time.... but because he wanted to work in tandem we ended up watching like 10 episodes in english. It was... it was really horrible, actually. >_> But I'm much more of a manga person, so maybe I'll try reading it instead.

oh god the english dub! I hate it so.... T^T the original is very dear to me, those voices are the characters to me. The only english voice that was even halfway acceptable was Lust and Al. If you watch it, never watch it in english or your ears will bleed.

Hahaha, okay, it was pretty funny, we definitely spent a lot of time laughing at the voice acting. So in a way I guess it was entertaining.... But no. Seriously, just.. no. Never. >_>

AUGH, I hate when english dubs ruin anime. BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!111!!1

oh I can BELIEVE IT!!!!! believe me!

I think my favorite dubs have been:

Escaflowne
Slayers
Ghost in the Shell
Case closed (conan)
Master Keaton
Berserk

I know I'm missing a few... most of them are older shows too, it seems like they just keep failing at these new one '~'

Okay, you know what I have to say about the Escaflowne dub (coughsamecastasinuyashaandthatdubwasterriblecough), but I have to agree that the English voice acting on all of the others are not too bad. Also, I was noticing the Black Jack English dub isn't bad either (the older one anyway) since I just watched it in both. Kenshin and Cowboy Bebop aren't half bad either. Berserk, to me, is actually BETTER in English, or that is what I believe anyway. Smile

Aw, Slayers. For sure : ). I'm attached to Escaflowne that way too, maybe because that's how I heard it first? Oh...wait. No, I think I watched some in Japanese first, because it was when you roomed with Cassandra and them.

haha! I remember that! And no, we watched it in english, they thought that the noises they made when they were running were hilarious and sounded like sex noises or something stupid like that so we stopped watching because they were becoming unbearable and we could barely hear the dialogue through their noise. *sigh*

I think it is kinda what you hear first in some cases, Escaflowne was probably one of those, just like you said.
"ALLEN SHIZAAAARE!"
It's just too funny!

Love Escaflowne, it was the first anime I actually watched all the way through. I had it on VHS =P

Watching Avatar, again XD one of the awesome things about working at Blockbuster, I get anime seasons for $20-30 a shot XDXDXD the only real reason I haven't quit yet lol

Sweeeet! Avatar is pretty awesome. I still need to get the 3rd season on DVD. The trailer for the 3rd season still gives me shivers. :0

I snagged the D.Gray-Man anime from a friend so I've been busying myself with that.

Oh D-Gray man anime, you don't live up to the manga at all ;_;
I tried to watch it but couldn't get past the first 10 or so. But if you're looking for background noise or something then it's not so bad. Not saying that it's terrible, but if you've read the manga first then it's disappointing is all.

Also, has anyone seen Munto, or Munto TV? I've fallen in love with it for some reason and there aren't even that many episodes. It was first a 2 episode OAV that kinda left you hanging, back in like 2003, then they just starting doing a proper series for it, looks like it's gonna be 13 episodes or possibly more. There are fansubs for 1-4 out right now.
It kinda reminds me of Noein a little(Atmosphere and girl with powers aspects), also the same artist did the openings for both series so maybe that's why...?
The characters are interesting, the settings are beautiful, the fight scenes are really really cool, and everything has a purpose. You know how in some shows there's filler or just stuff that never seems relevant yet it takes up space and forces you to watch it cause you have no idea how long it's going to last? Well Munto doesn't have any of that. I can't wait to see what the new material is gonna be like Very Happy I'm very excited to say the least. I think episode 5 has been released by not fansubbed yet, we have to wait until episode 7 most likely before we see new stuff since 1-3 covered the first OAV.

Obligatory pictures:

Also a comparison of the old and new animation:

This is an interesting fan pic too, it's as if it were a video game:

There's also like 50 of these funny little comics that they made while in production, the staff really has a sense of humor, I'd post some but you wouldn't know what was going on unless you've seen it.

So yeah, there's my plug for this show Very Happy Now go watch it! You can find episodes 1-4 also on Youtube, but who knows how long they'll be there.

Rewatchin Afro Samurai and watching Afro Samurai Resurrection. Always enjoyed the series, it gets straight to the action with no talking during fights, no explaining this ability of that, just pure action. Well...I guess there is talking, but it's always done by his imaginary friend lol ...I think I'm gonna buy it later today...

For those of you who would care for the Resurrection OST:

Never watched Afro Samurai, dunno, just didn't seem like my thing I guess. The animation always looked really high quality though Smile

Been watching Sora no Manimani, it's really good. Fun characters, fun story, and info about astrology, what's not to like? Also it's a school story anime that I actually like, I haven't been able to stand most recently, the last one was Natsume Yujinchou which was SUPER awesome btw.

also been keeping up with Tokyo Magnitude, and Guin Saga(I have no idea why I'm still watching this one though...). Haven't been into a lot of the summer releases... Looking forward to the second season of Darker Than Black however. I should really look that up to find out when it's coming out.
